Welcome to the inaugural edition of Research Notes, our electronic newsletter for the Television & Cable Factbook and the Advanced TV Factbook Online subscribers.

We're hard at work updating the million or so data points in the new 2011 print edition (our 66th!) which will be published in December.

The database now includes – for the first time anywhere – information on over 250 telco TV and IPTV providers. Subscribers can simultaneously search across this new data along with our unrivalled cable and TV station datasets. Premium subscribers can export their query results.

We're changing as fast as the mass video transmission industry. Last year the big news was the conversion of all commercial TV stations digital last summer, a transition fully documented in our current data.

This year the most significant changes are in the telco/IPTV industry.
