Video Transcript : How to find your IP Address and Mac Address on an Apple Macintosh Computer

Finding out your Apple Mac's Internet Protocol, or IP, and MAC, or physical address, couldn't be simpler.

Step one: IP Address

  • Head on up to the Apple menu at the top left of the screen.
Click it, and go to system preferences.
  • Once that's open, click on the network icon.
You should see your IP address under the method in which you are connected to the internet. Sometimes it's airport, or it might be Ethernet, etc.

Step two: Mac Address

  • Go to the Apple menu in the top left of the screen and click it.
Then click on ‘About this Mac'.
  • Once the dialog window opens, click on ‘More info', and you'll find your Mac Address under the network section.
