Web Development for Wells Fargo Bank Historical Services

While working for the Historical Services department at Wells Fargo Bank, I programmed various updates and enhancements (both in response to requests as well as per my own recommendations) and made code improvements to enable easier maintenance for the pre-2014 versions of the Wells Fargo History and Wells Fargo Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary websites.

Wells Fargo History

Maintenance, enhancements, and improvements for the Wells Fargo History website:

  • Prototyped a new non-Flash version of the "Since 1852" presentation, including some re-design
  • Ensured code met requirements for accessibility
  • Converted the Stagecoach Quiz from Flash to JQuery and improved the presentation as well as the functionality
  • Modified the main menu, and in the process, consolidated menu markup previously cloned in all pages (over 100 html files) into a Javascript include file; also recommended solutions for inconsistencies in menu behavior
  • Converted the entire Archives section (including several tabs with various extensive photo galleries) from Flash to JQuery
  • Converted the Stagecoach interactive main page from Flash to JQuery
  • Converted the Stagecoach gallery from Flash to JQuery
  • Re-worked the Exhibits page to display a JQuery slide show with tool-tips.
  • To ensure compliance with Wells Fargo branding, recreated header image (with correct colors) and linked all Wells Fargo logos to wellsfargo.com
  • Re-worked FAQ page to make use of opening and closing sections where previously all answer content had been displayed on an extensive page with jumps to anchors
  • Made various cosmetic improvements throughout the site for improved alignment, spacing, and image sizes
  • Consolidated Sacramento Capitol Mall and Old Sacramento museum content, previously in 2 separate sections
  • Consolidated footers and brought the content up to date
  • Programmed miscellaneous changes as required to keep the content up to date
  • Modified the main menu, and in the process, consolidated menu markup previously cloned in all pages (over 100 html files) into a Javascript include file; also recommended solutions for inconsistencies in menu behavior
